The faculty in the Field of Education at Cornell University comprise an interesting, vibrant group of teachers and researchers dedicated to graduate education and the development of educational professionals. We welcome you to explore the opportunities and challenges that Cornell offers.
Many of our classes are small, providing students with a chance to interact with faculty and fellow students. Student programs of study are designed individually in consultation with the student's Special Committee, consisting of a Chair in the Field of Education, and two members who represent minor areas of study and can be selected from throughout the University.
The Special Committee is an important part of your program, and our dedicated faculty works with students to outline your course of study and to guide you into the profession.
Traditionally, Cornell students are self-directed and look for more than simply the fulfillment of basic requirements. Our programs and faculty fit and support that model.
We support students in their quest for knowledge and systemic change while adhering to successful standards that have made our society and educational systems so productive for so long.
